Before his passage through Golden BachelorJoan was happily married for 32 years. Sadly, she lost her husband, John Vassos, to pancreatic cancer in early 2021 when he was just 59 years old. Now, she has the opportunity to find love again, with an impressive lineup of 24 illustrious men between 57 and 68 years old.
Joana’s decision to accept the Golden Single role was inspired by her late husband. She told ET“I feel like he maybe had a little hand in me actually getting here, honestly.” She continued, “He told me right before he passed away, ‘You need to go out and find someone else. You were the best wife in the world and I want you to be happy.’ He gave me this wonderful gift before he passed away, and he said go and do something, and so here I am.”
