Hezbollah announced the death of 20 of its members in the last two days, killed in explosions of their communications equipment.
The organization sent out separate death alerts from Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. for 20 members of which they died “on the way to Jerusalem”expression used to describe fighters killed by Israel.
A second wave of explosions targeting Hezbollah transmission devices left 20 people dead and more than 450 injured across Lebanon on Wednesday, officials said.
It came a day after a first wave of explosions targeting communications devices used by the pro-Iranian Islamist movement left 12 dead and nearly 2,800 injured, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
Nasrallah’s afternoon speech
This large-scale operation comes a day after a similar attack, following Israel’s announcement that it was expanding the targets of its war against Palestinian Hamas in the Gaza Strip to its northern border with Lebanon.
Hassan Nasrallah, who was not injured in the aftermath according to a source close to the movement, will speak at 5:00 pm (Greek time) on Thursday about the explosions attributed to Israel that killed several members of his movement.
