Krystal Evansa Georgia mother was embroiled in a divorce battle with her now ex-husband, Tom Mallory. Last week, the couple’s separation was reportedly finalized. However, as Evans left a court hearing, Mallory allegedly shot her multiple times, taking her life.
Members of the public reportedly believe Evans was not properly protected by police. However, a Georgia sheriff is denying any wrongdoing.

According to Carter, Evans and Mallory met as children and were married for over 20 years. Recently, Evans reportedly took to social media to inform her family and friends about her now-estranged husband’s alleged actions towards her.
“It’s sad that I have to walk around terrified for my life and my children’s lives,” Evans wrote on Facebook. “I know if anything happens to me. Please know who did this. This man has said countless times he will kill me. I am posting and trying to leave a paper trail…”
Evans was reportedly waiting for the court to grant him a protective order against Mallory. According to Carter, the order was granted on September 11. However, on September 13, Evans and Mallory appeared in court, where her ex-husband was reportedly scheduled to turn himself in on forgery charges.
According to the couple’s daughter, Precious EvansA family friend asked authorities to escort the mother out of the courthouse. But the request reportedly “fell on deaf ears.”
Evans left the courthouse and got into her car alone. At that moment, Mallory allegedly fired fatal shots at Evans.
A Georgia sheriff speaks out
According to Carter, Mallory fled the scene and was chased by officers before allegedly shooting himself in the head. Precious explained that his injury was not fatal and that he “is expected to survive.”
