Diddy should be careful in prison… because a former warden of the unit where he is says that there are many inmates who would consider killing him a matter of honor.
As you know, Diddy is currently being held at MDC Brooklyn — a notorious federal detention center in NYC — without bail. Sources with direct knowledge tell us that Diddy is being held in the Special Housing Unit, away from the general population.
Cameron Lindsay — former warden of MDC Brooklyn — tells TMZ that Diddy’s placement in the SHU makes sense because he’s a target behind bars … with his celebrity status and the nature of the allegations against him potentially drawing unwanted attention from other inmates.
In fact, Lindsay claims some would consider killing the mogul a “badge of honor”… so prison officials want to minimize access to the star.
In the SHU, Lindsay says Diddy’s lifestyle will be heavily regimented… with only one hour of recreation per day and three showers per week. We’re told family and friends will be able to visit him periodically… while his lawyers will have more access to work on his case.
A day in the life of Diddy… Cameron says he’ll get a wake-up call at 6 a.m., at which point he’ll need to make his bed, scrub the floor, and keep his cell clean.
We’re told he’ll be getting three 1,800-calorie meals a day… all of which will be prepared in advance and kept in a warming box for delivery to him, since he’s not in the general population — meaning the bland prison food won’t be particularly fresh when he gets it.
Diddy has access to a small store where he can buy smaller items — like candy, coffee, tea, cheese — as well as larger items like sweatpants, sneakers, and a radio.
James Kousourosrapper’s lawyer Casanova — who spent time at MDC Brooklyn before being sentenced to 188 months last year for extortion — told TMZ that conditions at the prison are even more dire than they appear.
Kousouros says fights and assaults happen regularly in the prison itself… and in the SHU, he says Diddy will have very limited access to the library and the phone.

JK says it’s harder for visitors to come and see people in the SHU because it takes so long to get there… and the prison doesn’t set aside time anymore — so even with regular visits, Diddy probably won’t see much of his family.

Overall…it looks like Diddy will be living a pretty secluded life…unless he can get out on bail soon.
