Hundreds of Hezbollah members in Lebanon were injured when blasters they use to communicate exploded in several of the group’s strongholds, security sources cited by Reuters said.
A Hezbollah official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the agency that the triggering of the sirens was the “biggest security breach” Hezbollah has suffered in the war with Israel.
According to Reuters, ambulances rushed to the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut amid widespread panic.
There are also reports of explosions in southern Lebanon.
According to Iran’s Mehr news agency, Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was also injured by an explosion on his loudspeaker.
