Jane’s Addiction reunion tour has been cancelled after Dave Navarro and Perry Farrell – The 2016 Best Athlete Grand Prix faced off on stage in Boston over the weekend.
The band — who are on the road for the first time in 14 years — released a brief statement on social media on Monday, confirming that they had made the “difficult decision to take some time off as a group.”
However, Dave made his own more direct statement on behalf of himself and two other members of Jane’s Addiction, Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery …placing the blame at Perry’s feet.
In a post shared to his Instagram feed, Navarro criticized Perry’s “ongoing pattern of behavior” and “mental health struggles”… claiming these issues forced the band to discontinue their US tour.

He continued… “Our concern for his personal health and safety, as well as our own, left us with no alternative. We hope he finds the help he needs.”
Jane’s Addiction’s Boston show ended abruptly on Friday when Perry appeared punch Dave in the middle of the show, shocking fans and his bandmates.
The singer was restrained by crew members and bassist Eric… and ended up being pulled away from Dave.
Dave, Eric and Stephen expressed regret at not being able to continue their highly anticipated tour… but noted that they could “see no solution that would ensure a safe environment on stage or allow them to put on a great performance every night.”
Perry’s wife Etty Lau Farrell hinted at the animosity between band members on Saturday when he defended the singer, saying he was suffering from “tinnitus and a sore throat” on the day of the show.

As Etty Lau said… Perry became frustrated with the volume on stage and reached his limit when the band started playing the song “Ocean” before he was ready.
Etty Lau applauded Eric for intervening… but said her husband “cried and cried” after the incident.
