NLE talks about the list of the best rappers
The list released on Thursday (September 12) prompted a frustrated reaction from NLE Choppa because it did not include him among the top 20 rappers.
The Memphis spitter responded by posting a 6-minute rant on social media.
“Whoever made that Complex list, I just want you to know one thing: Your ass needs to go rock and roll or some shit,” Choppa said. “See, I’ve been tucking my ass in, I’ve been trying to be more positive, I’ve been trying to be more of a light for these people. But y’all fucked me over. Y’all keep playing with me.”
NLE Choppa clarified that he was not dissing any of the artists on the list. However, he argued that the list could have included 21 musicians, which would have allowed him to be on it.
In the clip, the ‘Walk Em Down’ emcee said he’ll be cooking up something for October, but in the meantime he’ll focus on promoting his current music.
Choppa then showcased his accomplishments by discussing his sales and sold-out shows. He also credited NBA YoungBoy for his success, noting that they both accomplished a lot in their early 20s.
“Go check the certifications, tell me who’s beating me, bro, respectfully. I’ve been in my 20s for a year, nobody’s done what I’ve done. I’m gonna make y’all respect this shit one way or another. Who’s been dominating this whole year, in the male atmosphere? Come on, don’t play with me, bro. Sold out shows everywhere.” NLE continued.
