In the “Babis Skorpidas” press room of the “Theodoros Kolokotronis” stadium, at noon this Monday (16/9) the presentation of the new coach of Asteras Tripoli, Claude Makelele and his partners, Nigel Gibbs and Raphael Febre, took place.
The presentation was made by PAE president Giorgos Borovilos, who wished the new technical team success.
During his presentation, the famous Frenchman with a great career as a football player explained that he accepted the offer because he is passionate about football, as he has no shortage of money.
“I’m happy to be here. I’ve already had important conversations with the team. I’ve already spoken to the president, the owners and made the first acquaintances. They explained to me the history and the vision they have for the team and for the city.”said the legendary midfielder at the beginning of his statements.
“I didn’t come for the money, I earned it by playing. I came because I’m passionate about football. And I was immediately convinced because I saw clear people and when I see these people it’s easy for me.”Makelele added.
“And I’ll tell you the truth, the team is good because the previous coach did a good job. We’re going to do a great job with this team. When I accept a job, I want to give it my all. I’m committed to this because my family won’t be here either. I want my players to work, my players to reach the top, to reach the national teams.”he continued.
And he added: “We will focus on the starting team, step by step to improve our game, step by step and with a lot of work. Every day to improve gradually, but constantly. I would also like journalists to show understanding and not criticize my players too much. If you want, criticize me.”.
