The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has revealed more details about what happened in the moments leading up to the fatal shooting at Apalachee High School on Wednesday, September 4.

Here’s what the Georgia Bureau of Investigation revealed
According to CNNThe GBI revealed more information about the tragic event on Thursday, September 12. The bureau says 14-year-old Colt Gray carried an AR-15-style firearm into his classroom on September 4.
“The assault rifle could not be disarmed, but Gray concealed it in his backpack,” the department’s statement said.
Furthermore, the statement states that Gray “He asked a teacher if he could go to the office and talk to someone.”
“The teacher allowed him to leave and take his belongings with him,” the affidavit explained. “Gray went to the bathroom and hid from the teachers. He later grabbed the rifle and began shooting.”

As The Shadow Room previously reported, Gray allegedly used the gun to shoot two other 14-year-olds and two teachers. The teenage victims have since been identified as Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, while the teachers were identified as Christina Irmie and Richard Aspinwall.

What happened to Colt Gray, the alleged school shooter?
Since the fatal incident, Gray has been charged with four counts of murder, while his father, Colin Gray, has been charged with counts of involuntary manslaughter, second-degree murder and child cruelty, for The Shadow Room.

According to CNNIf Colt is convicted on all charges, “he could face up to life in prison.” If the same is true for his father, Colin “could face a maximum prison sentence of up to 180 years.”
The outlet notes that both father and son have not filed pleas. Meanwhile, Atlanta News First adds that father and son will appear in court on December 4.
Additionally, the outlet notes that a “grand jury has been impaneled” or chosen. The jury will reportedly “consider formal charges against them” on October 17.
Meanwhile, Colt Gray’s mother Marcee has been opening up about the tragic event. She recently told the press how she tried to avoid the “extreme emergency.” Then, on Wednesday, September 12, a letter was published, sharing his words for the families of the victims affected by the shooting.
