“I recently found out that I have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD. It was a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however, I have returned home to my son with a new sense of peace,” Taylor revealed.
Jax Taylor is being honest about your psychological well-being.
The Valley star, and Vanderpump Guidelines The alum took to Instagram on Monday to share that after spending time in a therapy clinic, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD.
Bipolar dysfunction as described by the mayo clinic is “a psychological well-being condition that causes excessive mood swings. These include emotional highs, also known as mania or hypomania, and lows, also known as despair,” while PTSD is a “situation of psychological well-being that is attributable to a particularly irritating or frightening occasion.”
In the candid post, Taylor, who sought therapy amid her marital issues with her estranged wife, Brittany Cartwrightmentioned that diagnoses bring a sense of peace and relief after years of “figuring out something was wrong” but not figuring out exactly what.

“A little over a month ago, I checked into an intensive care unit, scared of the unknown and what I would discover about myself. After a few years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD,” Taylor wrote alongside a pensive black and white photo.
“It’s been a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however, I’ve come home to my son with a newfound sense of peace,” he added of returning home from therapy for the couple’s three-year-old son, Cruz. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for the future, but my focus is simply on trying to be a better role model of myself than I was yesterday. Mental health is a lifelong battle of not letting it control you, but learning to manage it.”
The longtime reality star ended the post by thanking her followers for their support, writing, “Thank you to everyone who has helped me and who has also shared their own personal struggles with me. Your messages have helped me more than you already know.”

Taylor’s admission comes just days after Cartwright filed for divorce from her husband of 5 years, with the Kentucky native listing “irreconcilable differences as grounds for separation,” according to TMZwho released the information. Cartwright listed the date of separation as January 2024 on the paperwork.
The couple had a tumultuous relationship, much of which was chronicled on various reality shows, and their divorce as well, with Cartwright revealing on Friday’s episode of the former couple When reality sets in podcast, which followers will see happen in season 2 of The Valley.
“You’ll see how it all plays out once the show airs, but I will say this: This season was probably the most difficult season I’ve ever had to film,” Cartwright shared with her followers, as she got emotional. “I never imagined I would be going through something so personal and painful while the world watched.”
While Cartwright, who is seeking legal and physical custody of her son Cruz, can only say so much on the matter, she was keen to shut down any claims that the divorce filing is a “publicity stunt” to boost scores for the VPR spin-off.

“It’s the furthest thing from that,” she argued. “My decision to file was not made lightly or quickly.”
“It took me many, many years to get to the point where I had enough courage and power to do what was best for me,” Cartwright added, “to get out of a toxic relationship and finally see my worth.”
“It’s been really tough, but I’m stronger than ever,” she said, adding that her “motivation is my son, my Cruzie, who deserves a happy, healthy mommy.”
While Taylor has not commented on the divorce filing, the mental health update marked her first post since Cartwright’s filing.
