“The effort of the Panhellenic Federation of Food Workers – Tourism almost 6 months for the renewal of the sectoral collective agreement to work of workers in non-main tourist accommodation – rooms for rent was crowned with total success with the contribution of OMED”, underlines POEET.
As explained, the decision of the three-member arbitration (under number TRM.DA 11/2024) further increases employees’ salaries as of 4/1/2024, as it receives the mediator’s proposal as well as the increase in minimum wage.
So the remunerations in this sector are formed as follows:
From 01/01/2024 to 31/03/2024
€884.00
B’ €861.00
C’€838.00
€818.00
From 04/01/2024 to 31/12/2024
€896.00
€873.00
C’€850.00
€830.00
At the same time, all institutional terms of the contract and benefits are maintained, while the SSE has retroactive effect from 01/01/2024.
POEET feels the need to thank OMED for its mediation and arbitration services. As it notes, “GSEE’s victory in the SC for unilateral recourse to arbitration is yielding results!”
In the coming days, the federation will submit the contract to the Ministry of Labor and request that it be declared generally binding.
“The employers’ attempt to bring workers up to the minimum wage fell on deaf ears, as the increase is around 7%.
We continue our efforts, because wages in the sector are still low”, he stresses.
