After a warning from the FIA which cited safety reasons in carrying out the second stage of the EKO Acropolis Rally 2024, the Saturday, September 7th schedule will be moved one hour later than originally scheduled.
As announced, the Organising Committee of the EKO Rally Acropolis, having heard the concerns of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) regarding the possibility of crews competing in the first special route of the stage in conditions of low visibility (limited light, humidity, dust), have set the start of the day at 07:15 and respectively the start of the Regini special route at 08:16, instead of 07:16.
As the change applies to the full-day schedule, the reconnaissance of the super special route of the SEA Sirius race, which was scheduled for the afternoon of the same day, will now take place on Monday 2 September, so that the lighting conditions are common to all. For practical reasons, the ultra special route has been configured accordingly.
It should be noted that although the above concern was expressed shortly before the start of the match – and although its calendar was published at the appointed time (May) – the decision was taken with safety in mind and in the context of effective cooperation and mutual trust between the EKO Rally Acropolis Organising Committee and the FIA.
