Kiev is trying to “shift the war” to Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said tonight, amid an incursion by Ukrainian troops into the country. Russian Kursk Oblast, which began on Tuesday and which has not yet been commented on directly by Kiev.
“Today, on several occasions, General Sirski (retired Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces) made a report from the front, about our actions and the shift of the war to the territory of the aggressor (…). Ukraine proves that it can do justice and exert the necessary pressure: pressure on the attackerZelensky said in his daily evening televised message.

Russian forces are battling thousands of Ukrainian forces up to 20 km deep in the Kursk region, the fifth day since the largest incursion of Ukrainian troops into Russian territory since the start of the war in late February 2022.
More than 76,000 people moved from areas bordering Ukraine in Russia’s Kursk region, local emergency response authorities said, according to Russia’s TASS news agency.
