“Look, I’m standing with the walker. All by myself,” the 20-year-old Hallmark star declared in a video of herself standing and walking for the first time since she tragically fell five stories from a hospital balcony in May.
When the heart calls star Mamie Laverock reached an important “milestone” in its restoration two months after a five story fall from the balcony of a hospital he left her in vital care.
A video shared by her Facebook on Friday confirmed the emotional moment the 20-year-old stood up and took her “first steps” since her tragic accident in May.

“Thank you surgeons, thank you prayers, thank you Lord. Mamie just took her first steps,” the post read, while the video was captioned “Milestone Aug,2.24.”
The clip opened with Laverock receiving instructions and encouragement from two nurses, who presented her with a walker. The Hallmark star — who was wearing a cast on each leg — grabbed each side of the walker and, with the help of staff members, she pushed herself off the hospital mattress and stood up.
The room vibrated, bursting into applause.
“I’m up!” Laverock declared, as one of the nurses instructed her to take a second to adjust to the sensation.
“It really does seem bizarre. It really does seem bizarre,” she instructed her family.
When asked what it was like to stand, Laverock declared: “It feels very unstable.” She was then gently inspired to separate her feet: “Oh my God, ski boots are really exhausting,” the actress admitted, before “shuffling” and moving her right foot.
She was then asked to “put all (her) weight on the right side and a little bit on the left side,” which she did, holding the doctor’s hand to steady herself.
Someone off camera told Laverock they were on a video call with his father, John.
“I really feel like I’m going to fall backwards,” she admitted, to which one of the hospital staff assured her she was “safe” and advised her to “hold on to the walker.”
Laverock asked if her father was on the phone, before the person off camera replied that he was on FaceTime. “Hi, Dad… look, I’m standing with the walker. All by myself,” she said.
She then began to walk slowly, taking a step with one foot and then the other, before continuing.
“Oh my God, ft transferring! ft transferring!” a family member outside the digital camera exclaimed happily.

“Thank you so much. I don’t even know what to say. My heart is full,” the message read. “Thank you again. I have no words to explain my gratitude. I love you guys. Thank you. MAMIE.”
Below Laverock’s obvious message, his mother and father announced they were closing the GoFundMe and thanked followers for their love, support and donations.
“The Fund has now closed. Please understand how much you have helped this home in our most difficult circumstances,” they wrote. “Thank you for caring. Heat, Nicole and Rob.”
In response to the online fundraising page, GoFundMe raised $39,022 CAD, surpassing its goal of $30,000.

Last month, Laverock celebrated her 20th birthday, with her mother posting a photo of the two sharing their first hug on the young star’s website. Facebook account.
“Mamie moved onto her abdomen, stood up and held onto me… in that second we realized we could have our first hug,” Rockmann wrote, thanking her husband for “capturing” the sweet moment.
Laverock’s fall occurred on May 26, two weeks after she first experienced a medical emergency and was taken to the hospital. Her parents did not specify the emergency, but hinted at its severity in a GoFundMe web page set up for her, writing that Nicole managed to “get there in time to save her life.”
At the time, she was transferred to a hospital in Vancouver, according to her mother and father, where she was expected to remain “for another month or so.” They also acknowledged that “her recovery is unclear at this time, but she is alive and showing signs of improvement.”
This was all before Fall, which hit the GoFundMe page in the form of an update. The parents wrote that after two weeks of “in-depth therapy,” their daughter “was escorted out of a secure hospital unit and taken to a balcony walkway where she fell 5 stories.”

By the fall, the family said Laverock had suffered “life-threatening accidents” and had “undergone a series of detailed surgical procedures.”
Rockmann shared an update on May 30, saying Los Angeles Instances that Laverock had “simply opened his eyes” for the first time.
“Let’s just hope that this is the turnaround and that he or she can move on from this now. I couldn’t be happier that people reached out and cared,” she said. “The story will probably be told.”
Rockmann stated that her daughter was still on life support but was no longer on a ventilator. While she did not share details about Laverock’s injuries, she stated that her daughter’s body was “torn apart” and that she was in “super pain.”
In response to Rockmann, her daughter’s fall was not “alleged” or a suicide attempt. Laverock’s mother stated that she blames the hospital — St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver — for the accident, including that the family plans to take legal action against the health care facility.
Laverock has been a part of the Hallmark family for ten years, having first played Rosaleen Sullivan in the show’s first two seasons. She returned for season 10 in 2023, with her character now a nursing student.
