The elections in Heimarra started illegally, ND MEP Fr. Beleris.
He also notes that he will also file a defense.
Belleri’s post
Below is Fr. Beleri’s full post:
“The current elections began illegally, with a decision by the Central Election Commission that is illegal, and which has been appealed by the All-Union Human Rights Party (KEAD). Today I will also lodge my own objection, as the illegal decree issued under emergency conditions by the President is as if it had been issued by the Prime Minister. The illegality continues!
Now is the time for the government to act in these elections more than ever because it is not the fault of the voters who did not renew their ID cards. Time was extremely limited, as the decree for the election was issued on July 5th, starting at 4 pm on Friday. The time for voters to renew their ID documents was very limited, when even the e-Albania online service had limited functionality during this period.
The government must take steps to ensure that voters exercise their right to vote. There is no pretext, no need for accounting support, no costs, just as there were no obstacles in the previous elections. All ministers are in Himarra, let them meet at least once and make a decision in the interests of the people!
The government must show that it is not manipulating the will of voters, that the transfer of voters from all socialist municipalities to Himarra was not a government tactic and that the ban, as never before, on voting with expired identification documents is not done on purpose.
The government should maintain, at least its pretensions, as it has done so far, resorting to “independent” institutions, so that it appears that it is not using any means to manipulate these elections!
I appeal to my fellow citizens: Resist! Do not stay away from the polling stations! Do not be afraid! Vote! Vote! Vote!
