In a scathing attack on President Joe Biden, November’s Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has agreed to a Fox News debate with Kamala Harris on September 4.
“The rules will be the same as my debate with Sleepy Joe, who was treated horribly by his own party, but with a great audience,” Trump said, referring to President Joe Biden, who has since withdrawn from the campaign trail. -election.
The post on his platform, Truth Social, was taken down last night (local time) and replaced a few minutes later with a new one, with Trump deleting the suggestion of a “large” Town Hall-style event (i.e. an event with an audience asking questions) on the same date if Harris “does not want or is unable to participate in a debate”.
Harris responded last month that she was “ready” when Fox News suggested a Sept. 17 presidential debate between the two candidates.
After Biden dropped out of the presidential race on July 21 and endorsed Harris, Trump said he would not engage in a telefight with her because she is not his party’s official nominee.
As proof of his lack of support, Trump added that former President Barack Obama did not endorse Harris’ candidacy. However, Obama sided with her a day later, while yesterday Harris officially received the necessary number of electorate votes to become the Democratic Party’s nominee for president of the United States.
