“You guys are so f–king depressing. Leave us alone,” declared Biles, the most bedecked gymnast of all time, before also sharing the inspiration behind her epic diamond-encrusted goat necklace that “haters hate.”
Simone Biles is again attacking critics who criticized her husband, Jonathan Owensfor displaying one of the many gold medals he won in Paris 2024 Olympics.
After the legendary gymnast and her Staff USA teammates won gold in the women’s gymnastics team final on Tuesday, Owens posted photos on Instagram which showed him showing off his wife’s gold medal around his neck as they posed together for the camera.
However, some followers were not pleased to see the NFL star — who has received a number of online criticisms in the past — sporting Biles’ medal, prompting the 27-year-old to return to Owens’ wing.

In a TikTok video, a user named Kiera Breaugh criticized Owens for flaunting Biles’ gold medal, sharing one of the photos of him posing with his wife’s award.
“Take her medal away! After all this — take her medal away! Was it you, Mr. Simone Biles, who was flying through the air yesterday?” Breaugh said. “Was it you who spun like a top 30 times in the air and landed without tripping? No. You were taking notes from the audience, and I thought that was cute. I was going to give him a chance. I thought him keeping score from the audience was kind of cute. I was going to go easy on him.”
“(I) open Instagram. Why is it metallic around your neck? From the picture. From the picture you just posted after. … We got nothing. What a change. What a change. Among the spectators, he seems quite studious, though, like (he) is actually paying attention,” she continued, referring to how Owens was noticed in the crowd showing up to take notes and keep score during Biles’ events.
“Let her put the metallic on for the picture you just posted,” Breaugh added. “After every little thing that’s happened, this could be a fairly easy PR transfer. He’s like, ‘This is my one and only time to put a gold medal around my neck, so I think I’ll take this opportunity now. It’s not like I’ve already been ridiculed by the entire internet for trying to upstage my wife and undermine her accomplishments.’”
She said she believes “any individual took the image and thought, ‘This is reasonable, given the historical past,’” noting that “whoever took the image is a hater.”
Breaugh ended her video by sharing that Biles and Owens “want extra friends to let them know what the issues look like if they want to avoid the feedback. ‘Trigger, go look at the feedback on this, this image. They’re all like, wow, ‘Weird alternative. I don’t even remember your name, Mr. Simone Biles.’ It’s like it’s egging them on, you know?”
As the TikTok user is famous, feedback on Owens’ post was flooded with critics who were upset that he was posing with Biles’ medal. And other users shared that they agreed with Breaugh’s comments and criticisms of Owens in the feedback portion of his video.
“Mr. Simone Biles, they will never make me like you,” one consumer wrote, while another said, “I recognize her, THIS IS SIMONE BILES but who is he?”
“she’s so bored with us dragging this man around 😭😂,” joked another person.
However, it didn’t take long for Biles to see Breaugh’s video, with the athlete hitting back at TikTok consumer feedback, along with the ultimate backlash. She also shared the obvious reason why Owens was wearing her medal.
“the crazy thing is i put my medal on every single one of my relatives and took pictures. so never make assumptions. 🙄,” she wrote. “like y’all are so f–king depressing. leave us alone.”
Breaugh reacted to Biles’ comment by sharing a follow-up video, in which she stated that she was “honored to be told to f–k off by such a competent woman.”
“Yeah, she told us to shut the fuck up, and he or she put the medal on him,” she said. “So, she told him to do it. I can’t really be bad if she told him to do it, you know what I mean? And maybe he’s actually taking notes, and preserving the rank, which is, that’s sweet, that’s bigger than anyone’s ever done for me.”
“And you realize what? Maybe I am depressed. I will be called depressed by the most prettiest gymnast of all time. I really don’t care. I think that’s wonderful. I think that in comparison, naturally I am, not only depressed, but also lazy, untalented, and all the other issues in the caption, I am undeniably that in comparison,” she stated, referring to Biles’ caption. latest Instagram postwhere she threw shade at her former teammate MyKayla Skinner. “So I don’t care, I don’t care about that at all!”
Breaugh went on to note that “given the history of this,” some followers may have been a little surprised to see Owens sporting Biles’ medal. “False alarm,” she stated, concluding her video.
The “background” the TikToker was referring to was controversial feedback Owens made about The pivot podcast in late December. At the time, the Chicago Bears safety claimed he didn’t know who Biles was — essentially the most embellished gymnast in world history — before they met on the dating app Raya. He also joked that he’s the “fling” in their relationship.
Owens quickly began receiving hate online, with Biles even stepping in to silence some of the noise after the internet reached out for her husband.
Meanwhile, following Team USA’s victory in the women’s gymnastics all-around final on Tuesday, Biles won gold once again, taking home the gold in the all-around final on Thursday. While this marked her second gold medal of the 2024 Paris Olympics, it is her sixth overall and her ninth Olympic medal.
After her epic victory on Thursday, Biles’ teammate Jordan Chiles helped her put on a silver necklace with a diamond-encrusted goat pendant, a nod to Biles’ nickname as the GOAT.
In an interview with the BBC, Biles revealed the inspiration behind her iconic necklace.
“It’s a little ode, I mean, a lot of people like it, they always call me the GOAT, so I thought it would be really special if I could do one,” she said, PEOPLE. “And the haters hate, so I actually like this a lot more and it’s just a particular part of me that I have here, plus in the village I have like a stuffed goat, just to have a reminder of, ‘You can go to the grocery store, you can do this, you’ve done this before, so let’s do it.’”
According to the company that designed the pendant, Janet Heller High Quality Jewelrythe necklace has 546 diamonds.

“The GOAT necklace, a three-dimensional masterpiece adorned with 546 diamonds, personifies her unparalleled standing in gymnastics,” the jewelry model wrote on Instagram. “Crafted with meticulous precision, this piece showcases her dedication, perseverance, and the spirit that has impressed generations.”
Meanwhile, along with her latest messages to her haters, Biles also appeared to throw shade at former President Donald Trump, who recently made controversial and offensive comments about “black jobs.”
During an appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) on Wednesday, Trump was asked what a “black job” is, to which he responded that it is “anybody who has a job.”
Following Biles’ gold medal win in the all-around final on Thursday, singer Ricky Davila shared a photo of the gymnast showing off her goatee necklace on the X, previously on Twitter, writing, “Simone Biles being the best ever, winning gold medals and dominating gymnastics is her dirty work.”
Biles reshared the post and wrote, “I really like my black work🖤.”
