In new court documents, Halle says her ex’s “lack of acceptance” of her new boyfriend is preventing them from creating “a healthy environment” for their son, Maceo.
Halle Berry is expressing her issues related to co-parenting with her ex Olivier Martinezwith whom he has a 10-year-old son, Maceo.
Her many points along with her ex were specified by a new court filing obtained by TMZin which she claimed he was not adhering to the terms of their co-parenting agreement. She noted that the couple had previously agreed to co-parenting therapy, but alleges that he had delayed his periods so he could take the “summer off” in France… something she says was not made clear to her by Berry or the therapist.
“Olivier’s conduct has resulted in a number of areas of great concern to me,” Berry said in the lawsuit — before listing one concern as “Olivier’s continued refusal to accept my relationship with[boyfriend Van Hunt]who plays a significant role in Maceo’s life.”

“Olivier’s lack of acceptance of Van has led to Olivier refusing to allow Maceo to work in a family therapy setting with Van and me as a way to continue to create a healthy environment for our son while building a blended family,” she added.
Berry has been looking for relationships since 2020.
Among the many different allegations Berry listed as “problems”:
- Olivier’s continued unilateral decision-making regarding Maceo’s training and extracurricular activities without my prior input and consent, despite Olivier and I sharing joint legal custody of Maceo.
- Olivier constantly puts Maceo in the middle of Olivier’s anger towards me and during our fight.
- Olivier’s energetic interference in my therapeutic work with Maceo.
- Olivier’s continued attempts to align Maceo with him and against me in many areas of our son’s life and actions cause Maceo to become indignant with me about personal issues concerning Maceo, which Olivier and I are discussing at the same time.
- Olivier’s history of refusing to take the necessary steps to obtain academic and psychoeducational services, as well as other interventions, to meet our son’s academic, psychological, and social needs.
- Olivier’s use of Maceo’s football actions as leverage to negotiate sentences that impact Maceo’s academic and therapeutic needs.
- Olivier’s energetic attempts to influence Maceo’s instructor and therapist to see me as a threat to our baby by telling false stories about my relationship with Maceo through Maceo or third parties.

In his petition, Berry asks a judge to “enforce Oliver’s compliance” with the previous agreement — which includes treatment periods and other requirements — that they both signed in May.
“Over the course of these intervening two months, the couple should have completed their individual sessions, they should have begun their joint sessions, and the coparenting therapist should have communicated with vital third parties as part of that course, all in the best interests of their son, Maceo,” Berry wrote. “None of this occurred. In fact, no joint sessions were scheduled and no third parties were contacted.”
As for the excuse to spend the summer in France, Berry also mentioned that therapy sessions are conducted over Zoom — so they can be done anywhere.
Per PEOPLEShelley Kaufman denied the request, not considering it an urgent matter.
So far, neither Berry nor Martinez have commented further on the submission.
