Puppy love! Chris Evans sat down with ET on July 31 for National Mutt Day and explained how her dog, Dodger, impacts her wellness regimen while celebrating her partnership with jinx.
Although fans are used to seeing the Captain America: The First Avenger A star with a strong look for action-packed roles, Evans admits she prioritizes her rescue dog’s nutrition over her own.
“If the film I’m working on requires a certain level of fitness, the diet will reflect that, but other than that, it’s junk food,” says the 43-year-old actor.
“[My diet]is probably not as good as Jinx’s!” he explains of the dog food line, which is packed with high-quality proteins, superfoods, probiotics, and immunity-boosting vitamins and minerals.
But when it comes to exercise routines, Evans and his pet are always on the same page.
“It’s a lot of love and a lot of exercise. Dodger lives a very active lifestyle. … He’s a big part of cardio. You know, he loves going for long walks and rollerblading. Even though he’s 10 years old, he hasn’t lost a step! I keep waiting for his battery to start to die down a little, but our walks are over an hour every day,” he notes.
In addition to (literally) keeping the Ghost actor alert, Dodger also contributes to Evans’ overall happiness.
“My life is exponentially better with Dodger. He’s an incredibly special dog, and I don’t think it’s possible to be in a bad mood when he’s around,” he says.
“(Adopting him) was one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had. It was incredibly kismet. I knew immediately the second I saw him that he was coming home with me. From now on, I will only rescue dogs. That’s the new approach from now on,” Evans adds.
A portion of the profits from Jinx products sold at Walmart during the month of August will benefit the USO Canine Program.
