Selena Gomez is healthy and happy in her romance with the music producer Benny White — and she’s explaining how her life and mental health have changed since her youth.
The singer and Only Murders in the Building The star took to TikTok over the weekend to respond to a fan post that shared a video of Gomez when she was younger, captioning it: “I know, and you know, that back then she would have never gotten engaged to Benny, she was in her IT GIRL era.”
On Sunday, Gomez commented on the TikTok — which was posted on June 3 — and wrote, “Kinda makes me laugh because I was so depressed back then lol.”
Gomez and Blanco — who started their relationship as collaborators and friends — confirmed their relationship in December 2023. Since then, the couple has been open about sharing details about their romance.
Last Wednesday, Gomez took to Instagram to share a series of sweet photos and a message to her boyfriend. “Thank you for sharing your life with me today and every day 🙂,” the 32-year-old wrote.
Gomez’s carousel included a series of photos of her and the music producer cuddling on the couch, kissing at dinner, posing for selfies and relaxing in the sun. Blanco saw the message and had a sweet reaction of three heart-eye emojis.
Gomez’s post comes after Blanco, 36, wrote a sweet tribute to his love in honor of his 32nd birthday earlier this month.
“I used to play a teddy bear in your music video and now I get to play you in real life… happy birthday bb! I love you!” he wrote.
The carousel began with a photo of Blanco dressed in a giant teddy bear costume from the “I Can’t Get Enough” music video. Blanco’s post continued with a photo of Gomez holding a smaller white teddy bear.
In May, Gomez open to Time magazine about loving Blanco through the noise. While she didn’t say whether marriage or kids are her next plans, she did share that he’s here to stay.
“I know what people can do to the people I love. My own fans, who I adore and feel have shaped who I am, will tell me the most hurtful things about how I live my life,” she told the magazine. “But he has such a strength in him that none of that noise fazes him. It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.”
