Manolis Koutouzis, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, has been elected the first Rector of the Hellenic Open University (EAP), following the first elections held at the EAP.
Until recently, EAP was managed by government committees, however, after the recent approval of Law 5.094/2024 (for non-state universities), the university now has the possibility of self-government.
At the same time, based on the proposal of the elected rector, the first four vice-rectors of the PEA were also appointed. They are:
- Athanassios Michiotis, A’ level professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences at EAP, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation.
- Takis Kagialis, first-level professor at the Faculty of Letters at EAP, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Outreach.
- Efthymios Zervas, First Level Professor at EAP School of Applied Arts and Sustainable Design, Vice-Rector for Infrastructure and Finance.
- Vassilis Verykios, first-level professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology of EAP, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs.
