Hamas officials vow revenge with the death of Ismail Haniya, political leader of the extremist organization and head of negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages.
An official of the terrorist organization said its members are “ready to pay any price” to avenge the murder of Ismail Haniya.
“We are engaged in an open war for the liberation of Jerusalem and we are ready to pay any price,” said Sami Abu Zohri.
“This cowardly act, the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniya, will not be like this,” said Musa Abu Marzouk, a member of the organization’s political bureau.
He had authorized the October 7 attack.
The Israeli government considers Haniya to be one of the main perpetrators of the horrific October 7 terrorist attack in Hamas. He is said to have approved it and watched its execution from the comfort of his office in Qatar, where he lived in luxury for years.
Israeli authorities have vowed to hunt down those responsible for the attack, wherever and whenever they are. Many analysts therefore believe that his assassination was only a matter of time. However, this comes at a critical time for negotiations in Gaza and amid fears of a regional war in the Middle East.
