Britney Spears‘ residence hit the market on Monday — which made her followers think she made it out of Cali… but she’s not going anywhere, TMZ has learned.
Eagle-eyed sleuths likely noticed BS’s Thousand Oaks mansion pop up on real estate websites as being listed on the market on Monday — and it appeared she was trying to sell it for just under $9 million… at least based on the public listing.
However, despite the fact that this information was published and spread far and wide — multiple sources with direct information inform us that the whole thing was a hack… and Britney is NOT packing her bags.
We realized that someone hacked into the A Number of Itemizing Service — MLS — and posted the fake listing. Different real estate sites, including Realtor.com and Zillow, then picked it up and the fake listing spread like wildfire.
Our sources tell us that Brit’s management group looked at the listing on Monday — which had some big-wig real estate agents attached. We’re told Brit’s group reached out to those agents … and the agents said they had no involvement whatsoever.

It’s unclear who hacked the MLS, but either way… we’re told those responsible have already taken it down.
