Tanker carrying LPG bound for Lamia, deviated from its course 95.5 km from the Athens-Lamia highway at the height of Ylikis shortly after 3pm on Monday (29/7).
According to lamiareport, the heavy vehicle moved uncontrollably against the walls and protective bars, breaking them and entering the opposite current, where it fell.
The tractor got stuck in the divider, while the tank overturned in the flow of traffic towards Athens.
According to the same information, the driver was not injured.
Traffic regulations
For safety reasons, the Police closed the national highway to both traffic flows, while fire engines also arrived at the scene.
At the time it will happen dangerous cargo removal operation with its transfer to another tank, so the national road will have to remain closed for many hours in the above mentioned area.
An alternative route is already being implemented, specifically, at km 90 at the height of Thebes, for the current to Lamia and at km 100 at the irregular junction of Akraifni for all vehicles moving towards Athens.
