The leader of the Shiite rebels Houthi Yemen’s Yemeni movement threatened today that it would retaliate against Israeli airstrikes in Hodeidah, Yemen, the leader of the Iran-backed group said in a televised address today.
The attacks on Hodeidah
Israeli warplanes struck Houthi military targets near the port of Hodeidah on Saturday, killing at least nine people and wounding 87, a day after a Houthi drone strike in Tel Aviv left one dead.
“Retaliation is inevitable,” warned Abdul Malik al-Houthi.
Attacks by Shiite rebels on Israel, which they say are carried out in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, will continue and the rebels will not be deterred by Israeli air strikes, he added.
“Whatever the Israeli enemy side does will bring more motivation for revenge,” al-Houthi said.
