Zendaya and director of “Euphoria” Sam Levinson are gearing up to finally film the long-delayed third season of the series — but some time ago, he reportedly blamed her for delaying production.
Sam, who is also the main writer and creator, took issue with Zendaya focusing more on her film career than the hit HBO series, at least according to a source close to Sam who said ANDHR … “It was all about her.”
It seems there was some bad blood between them for a while, because Zendaya’s side of the story is that Sam should also get some blame since he was busy working on another HBO series, “The Idol.”
According to THR … their partnership became very strained after Levinson delayed finishing scripts for a third season of “Euphoria” in favor of working on “Idol” with The weekend. The show was supposed to launch the singer’s acting career, but it flopped and ended after one season.
The reported dynamic between Zendaya and Sam is a big change from the first two seasons of “Euphoria”… when the pair were said to be “very close” on and off set, with Zendaya shadowing Sam to better understand her character.
“Euphoria” last aired in February 2022, but there were no updates on the highly anticipated third season until recently, when HBO announced on July 12 that the main cast would return and the series would begin production in January 2025.
As for Sam and Zendaya’s relationship… we’re told everything is resolved now, they’re on good terms and looking forward to working on the new season.
In other words, everything is euphoric again.
