The “American Idol” fan favorites are proving that the show must go on under any circumstances… as they handled a sudden change in their recent show like pros.
Check out… half of the 10 ‘Idol’ finalists — including Jack Blocker, McKenna Breinholt, Kaibrienne, My Matthews It is Kayko — stopped by Nashville’s 2nd Annual Franklin Summer Bash to serenade their devoted fans. However, just as the show was nearing its end, a thunderstorm rolled through town — resulting in lightning striking a transformer and causing a power outage at the venue.
Waiting for your permission to upload Instagram media.
The blackout happened in the middle of McKenna’s performance of Hillsong’s ‘Oceans’… but it didn’t stop her from finishing her set. Watch the video, after a brief pause, McKenna continues to sing her song, with the crowd keeping the lights on by turning on their flashlights on their phones.
Jack, who was the only artist left to continue, received a similar reception… as the crowd kept their lights on throughout his 40-minute set. Despite the technical difficulties, he persevered… using only his guitar and his voice to entertain the audience.
The artists — including the ‘Idol’ Top 14 finalist Quintavious Johnson and the star of “The Voice” Maddi Jane — even mingled with fans at the end of the show. In fact, they sat on the edge of the stage in the dark as they signed autographs and took pictures with fans.
As they say… the show must go on!!!
