Latto gives his opinion on Kendrick and Drake
According to PEOPLELatto recently discussed the iconic rap rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar with Billboard. She expressed excitement about the rivalry, mentioning that her generation has never seen anything like it before.
“I’m not gonna lie: I liked it! I liked the back and forth. I thought it was healthy for the culture. It just felt nostalgic. I don’t think our generation has ever seen a rivalry like that. I f***ed with it.”
The ‘Big Mama’ spitter also praised Drizzy and K.Dot for their talents and capabilities.
“I feel like it’s two n*****s that are killing this shit and they’re both so talented, and they’re both on their high horse, showing off their talents and abilities. They’re both still those n*****s, they’re both still the greatest of all time. This shit is fucking up the culture, man.”
Rapper Talks Beef With Ice Spice
When discussing Drake and Kendrick, Latto spoke about stepping into a rap ring of his own with Ice seasoning. Fans have always speculated that the two musicians were exchanging lyrical provocations throughout their songs.
However, Latto said Billboard she doubts Ice Spice would be ready to trade “full diss records.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, the “Big Energy” hitmaker briefly commented on the battle against Ice Spice, saying she wants a fierce competitor willing to take her on.
“If I was going to do[a battle]it would have to be someone that I feel like I’m going to be on the same page with. I don’t really mean it as shade. Would she want to do that? I feel like she’s doing that on her track. It’s two different types of vibes. I don’t even think she gives me like, ‘Oh, she wants to get into a real rap beef.’ Everyone’s going to take their little jabs at the song, and it’s not even that serious to me; I feel like you should do that. Keep going! But as far as whole albums of dissing each other, I don’t think she would want to do that. I feel like… would that make sense? It wouldn’t.”
Latto went on to tell Billboard that “jabs” are common in the rap industry, so fans shouldn’t be surprised by her and Ice Spice.
In June, social media users speculated that Latto was attacking Ice Spice after she posted a photo of a poop emoji cake with the caption, “Think I’m the man, bitch?”
Before that, Ice Spice appeared to respond to the Atlanta artist teaser of his song ‘Sunday Service’ while one of her music videos played in the background. However, Latto appeared to be on equal footing with Spice as she traveled to her hometown in the Bronx to film her own music video.
