Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan have a love story for all ages!
On Tuesday, the 63-year-old man Back to the future star celebrated her 36th wedding anniversary with Pollan, 64, by posting a sweet throwback photo in honor of the happy occasion. The couple, who met on the set of Family tieswere married on July 16, 1988, in an intimate ceremony in Vermont.
Along with his Instagram post — which shows Fox and Pollan sitting on a trampoline in their youth with his arm around her — the actor wrote kind words for his wife.
“Here’s to a lifetime of love with the love of a lifetime. Happy birthday T. Forever ♥️,” he captioned the photo, which has over 100,000 likes.
In the comments, famous friends of the couple congratulated them on the big milestone in their relationship and commented on the cute photo of the actor and actress with baby faces.
“Happy birthday ❤️,” Julianne Moore replied.
“I love this photo! ❤️,” added Ali Wentworth.
“❤️,” Fox shared. Back to the future co-star, Christopher Lloyd.
Pollan, in turn, posted a photo of himself with his husband, also celebrating their memorable 36-year marriage.
“Same place, different year! Happy birthday my love, we haven’t changed a thing 😘 I love you!” Pollan wrote in the Instagram caption, which Ted Bow Star Hannah Waddinham replied: “Happy anniversary to the most beautiful couple. 🫶🏻❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.”
In May 2023, ET reached as Teen Wolf actor — who recently took the stage with Coldplay to play guitar during the Glastonbury show — and he called his marriage to Pollan “the best 35 years of my life.”
“We give each other room to make mistakes. Always remember that. Don’t take slights for granted,” Fox said. “… That’s the beautiful thing about marriage, it’s the two of us.” He added that he would also “be dead” without his significant other.
The couple has remained together through ups and downs, including the birth of their four “beautiful children,” as Fox called them in her previous interview with ET, and her struggles with alcoholism following her Parkinson’s diagnosis.
“I was clearly using alcohol to cover up the illness,” said the actor, who has not had a drink in more than three decades. He added that he made a deal with himself and his family to laugh during difficult times in an effort to find joy in even the most painful experiences.
“Laughter is always my first response to anything,” he said. “… It’s just looking for joy in things. It helps to have a family that (supports you).”
