In the facilities for digitizing citizens’ insurance history to Electronics National Social Security Agency (e-EFKA) was found on Wednesday Minister of Labor and Social Security, Niki Kerameoswith the deputy minister, Panagiotis Tsakloglou and the Social Security gy, Nikos Milapidis.
The Minister was briefed by e-EFKA Commander Alexandros Varveris on the projects being implemented, aimed at creating an integrated and unified insurance history repository, where tons of paper material are converted into reliable digital data.
In this sense, two distinct projects for the digitalization of the Agency’s paper archive were designed and launched, which are financed by Recovery Fund and Resistance (TAA) and the QREN. The aim of the projects is the digitization, documentation and extraction of insurance history data from a total of 53 million pages of paper files from the former Social Security Agencies.
The projects in question are among the first digitalization projects in Greece that use modern technologies artificial intelligence and machine learning (Intelligent Document Processing – IDP) to extract data from a paper file, reducing associated costs and increasing the quality of the extracted data.
The Minister stated in this regard: “We are implementing a capital project of digitizing citizens’ insurance history, i.e. printed – even handwritten – citizens’ insurance history documents to be used by e-EFKA for issuing pensions.
It is worth noting that the digitization of documents and the extraction of relevant data is done using Artificial Intelligence tools.
Our ultimate goal is the complete digitalization of the pension issuance process, with the aim of faster and more efficient pension issuance and therefore better service to citizens.”
