A car attack on a bus stop near Lod in central Israel wounded four Israeli soldiers today, the army, police and emergency services said.
The attack took place near the Jifrin military base. A police spokesman said the attacker was being treated as a “terrorist” and that the assailant had been “neutralized.”
The man driving the vehicle was a Palestinian resident of East Jerusalem.
Magen David Adom (MDA), the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross, said it provided first aid and transported three injured people to the Samir-Assaf Harofeh Medical Center. However, the hospital announced that it had received a total of four injured people.
Two men in their 20s were in serious condition and one had only minor injuries. Police said one of the injured was in “critical condition.”
