The biggest names in sports and entertainment came together Thursday night to honor the year’s best, most influential and inspiring athletes. 2024 ESPY Awards.
Arriving at the big show – held once again this year at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood – sports superstars including Olympian Simone Bilesbasketball stars Jaylen Brown and Caitlin Clark, professional tennis player Coco Gauff, Super Bowl Champion Patrick Mahomes and MLB great Shohei Ohtani were among the top nominees at this year’s big awards show.
Additionally, this year’s ESPYs presented the traditional trio of honorary awards to special recipients, including the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage, the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance and Pat Tillman Service Award.
Former NFL player Steve Gleason received the Arthur Ashe Award for his work raising awareness about ALS, while University of South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley received the Jimmy V Award. Meanwhile, Prince Harry was honored with the Pat Tillman Award for their efforts to help military veterans through sport with the Invictus Games.
