Rashida Jones recently recalled an intense conversation with Tupac Shakur when she was just a teenager.
HuffPost reports that the actress was “furious” that the rapper said her father, Quincy Jones, created “f*** you kids” with “White b******.”

Tupac made the shocking statements in a 1993 issue of The Source. The 22-year-old slammed the highly decorated music producer, stating, “All he does is shove d*** in white pussies and make up motherf***ers.” Rashida and her sister Kidada Jones’ mother was actress Peggy Lipton. The late actress is well known for her roles in ‘Twin Peaks’‘ It is “The Mod Squad.”
Rashida, who was 17 at the time, wrote a response to Pac’s vitriol. It was published in the hip-hop magazine’s follow-up issue three months later.
She recently spoke to The New Yorker and reflected on his feelings at the time, “…I was so angry. It was a new perspective for me.”
UPROXX reports that Rashida fiercely defended her father. She claimed that Quincy was the reason artists like Tupac had a platform to create their art. The then-teenager said that Tupac “ignorance” it was evident, and he had a “lack of respect for your people.” Rashida said her music mogul father he must “live your life” without being judged. She felt that “who he loves” It was nobody’s business but his.
“It seemed like a completely unjustified attack,” said the ‘Sound of Metal’ actress.
However, things changed when Kidada met the artist in New York. Tupac mistook Kidada for his sister Rashida.
She explained, “(he) went to her because he thought it was me.” In ‘Q: The Autobiography of Quincy Jones’, Kidada recalled meeting the ‘Only God Can Judge Me’ rapper.

“I met Tupac at a club after that, and he said, ‘I want to apologize to you. I didn’t mean it about your father or you.’” she wrote. She said the ‘Do For Love’ rapper stated, “(he) didn’t see them as real human beings.” Kidada added, “he was all in the game” but “liked him.” She also admitted that She initially didn’t tell her father about their romance because she thought he would stumble.
HuffPost reports that Rashida remembered that her breakup “It was resolved very well.”
When they all met, Tupac “immediately apologized to me, immediately apologized to my father,” and them “We sat down and had a really good conversation about it.” Rashida said after that, “(Tupac) was family.”
His sister Kidada and the legendary rapper lived together until he was murdered in 1996. As previously reported by The Shadow RoomDuane ‘Keefe D’ Davis was arrested in connection with the murder of Tupac on September 29, 2023. He has pleaded not guilty. Davis’ judgment is scheduled to begin on November 4th.
