Taxi drivers and owners have started a 24-hour strike starting today at 6:00 am.
They have planned a meeting at the intersection of Spyros Patsis and Kavala streets at 9:30 in the morning. Their request is for the immediate withdrawal of the amendment by the Ministry of Tourism. It should be noted that the amendment, which provides for inspections to determine violations by drivers who transport tourists.
In a statement, SATA states that “the government shows in every way its desire to expropriate our profession, supporting oligopolies and multinationals in every way”.
