The journalist passed away Athanasia Syngelakiswho was a correspondent in Rome for ERT2, but also for international media outlets such as the BBC and the Greek broadcaster Deutsche Welle.
Athanasia Syngelakis was the mother of journalist Theodoros Andreadis Syngelakis, who announced the news of her death in his post.
Here is the post:
“My mother, Athanasia Syngelakis, “set out” on the long journey.
As a young man, he loved theater and collaborated with troupes such as Alexandraki’s, Vandi, Vergi and National, acting in dozens of radio plays. His teacher, Karolos Kuhn, at the Art Theater.
In his second life, he loved journalism, as a tireless correspondent for ERT2, as well as for the BBC’s Greek broadcasting and Deutsche Welle in Rome. He worked with Rai, as an actor and on their foreign shows.
I owe her a lot. From my Greek, to my work and to a great “magic” that characterizes it more than anything else: the moral obligation to defend the weakest, the forgotten, those who have no material return to offer, whatever the cost ».
