Savannah Guthrie left a very important item in a bar while he was with her Today showmates. The 52-year-old journalist and her morning show co-anchor, Hoda Kotbwere guests on Tuesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
When a caller asked Guthrie how she lost a tooth, the veteran TV personality explained the funny scenario. “It happened. It was at the Christmas party, which when you’re in the Today “The Christmas party starts at, like, 3 p.m. Lots of drinking throughout the day,” Guthrie noted.
She ended up staying later than most of her colleagues, partying with coworkers including Sheinelle Jones, Dylan Dreyer, and Jenna Bush Hager.
“The next thing I know, the morning I wake up, I’m like, ‘I feel like something’s missing.’ It was, like, a molar,” Guthrie said, noting that he felt a blank space in the back of his jaw. “I was like, ‘Where is it?’ And they were like, ‘Maybe it’s at the Pebble Bar.’ It was gone.”
Kotb, who laughed at the memory and shook his head, noted that it took Guthrie a long time to fix the tooth.
“She let it go for weeks! I was like, ‘Go to the dentist,'” Kotb recalled.
“You couldn’t see it. It was a molar!” Guthrie replied.
Guthrie said he lost a tooth during surgery People magazine interview with his fellow anchors.
“I don’t know, it’s still at the Pebble Bar,” she said in May.
Kotb opened up to ET in March about her bond with Guthrie and how they support each other personally and professionally.
“We love each other, and we’re each unique in our own lane,” Kotb said. “Savannah is brilliant. She’s like, ‘Read this, it’s just a silly diary thing.’ And I’m like, ‘This is not a silly diary thing. If I had this, I would print it out today. Let’s go!'”
