Spain could be without their captain for the Euro 2024 championship match… Alvaro Morata was injured after an intruder created chaos on the pitch following the country’s victory over France on Tuesday.
The wild scene unfolded shortly after the final whistle of Spain’s 2-1 win… when a spectator from the crowd ran onto the pitch to join the Spanish team’s post-match celebration.
This can’t keep happening. It’s a disgrace, UEFA needs to control this much better. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. 🤦♂️ #Euro2024 #Morata photo.twitter.com/Dp5KgEvq5h

You can see in the footage from the stadium, as the man ran through the festivities… security acted quickly to arrest the individual and remove him from the action.
But when one of the guards ran a little too fast, they slipped and fell on Morata’s leg, who immediately began to tremble in pain.
Álvaro tried to recover from the injury… but it was clear that he was hurt.
The coach of Spain, Louis of the Fountainsaid after the game that they will have to “wait and see tomorrow” how Alvaro feels to determine his availability for Sunday’s tournament final against England or the Netherlands.
“We think it’s nothing,” he said. “It hurts, but we think it’s nothing.”

Morata himself seemed to be in good spirits… taking to Instagram after everything had calmed down to celebrate the team’s qualification for the final.
