Heavy rain has been hitting Belgium since midday. In the morning, temperatures in some areas reached 30 degrees, but meteorologists have reported that storms are expected and will weaken from midnight onwards.
At least three people were injured. The fire department received more than 150 calls for help.
It was in June the ninth consecutive month in which above-normal rainfall was recorded. This is a record for Belgium. The previous one was 119 years ago, in 1905.
