Emmanuel Macron is traveling normally today to Washington, DC, for its anniversary Summit NATO scheduled for Thursday.
But according to information from Le Figaro, several government officials and political allies of the head of state have expressed their concern about his absence, and while the processes to form a government continue after the unexpected victory of the New Popular Front in the elections of July 7.
“The left will reach an agreement on the name of a prime minister, we have to organize ourselves. But if the president goes to the United States for two days, we won’t be able to do anything,” fears a minister, insisting on the need for quick negotiations to reach a government coalition.

The first meeting took place on July 18th
Especially since the meeting of the new Assembly will open on July 18, the date of the beginning of the 17th legislature, but also of the elections for the presidency of the Palais Bourbon, the House of the National Assembly, things are urgent.
Emmanuel Macron is wondering whether he should cancel his trip to the United States. “He’s not going there. It’s not in his mind not to go,” responds President Figaro’s entourage, without however ruling out the possibility.
