Corinth Pipeworks has signed a contract with Woodside Energy, operator of the deepwater Trion field, for the fabrication and supply of approximately 118 km of high frequency welding (HFW) pipe.
The Trion field is located in the Lost Belt of the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 180 km off the coast of Mexico and 30 km south of the US-Mexico maritime border. This is a pioneering new development, ready to bethe first deep-sea project, from the waters of Mexico, with the prospect of connecting future fields with its facilities.
Trion is a joint venture between Woodside Petroleum Operations of Mexico, Limited Liability Company with Variable Capital (60%, Operator) and Pemex Exploration and Production (40%).
The project
Development includes a subsea pipeline system, connected to a floating production unit (FPU), which will be connected to a floating storage and offloading unit (FSO), ensuring efficient extraction and processing of energy resources.
The pipes will be manufactured in the company’s state-of-the-art facilities. The scope of supply includes the application of external anti-corrosive coating and external weighted concrete coating (CWC), which will be carried out at the same site as the pipe production. This integrated approach ensures optimum quality control and efficiency throughout the pipe manufacturing and coating processes.
“We are delighted to have been selected by Woodside Energy for the Trion subsea project,” he said. Elias BekirosGeneral Manager of Corinth Pipe Works. “This award underscores our commitment to providing high-quality solutions that meet the stringent requirements of deepwater energy developments. We look forward to contributing to this groundbreaking project.”
