Illegal gas stations were identified by their customs inspectors Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) in Heraklion, Crete and Kos, resulting in their two-year sealing.
Particularly:
- Following the use of information resulting from a complaint in the AADE appodixi application, it was found that a handwritten Retail Sales Receipt had been issued for the sale of heating oil, which had not been transmitted to the AADE information systems. Following an on-site inspection at the petrol station located in Heraklion, Crete, incomplete documents for the fuel in the tanks were found, and the crime of smuggling is being investigated.
- Kos Customs inspectors, carrying out a routine check at a hotel on the island, found possession of adulterated fuel. Their check continued at the gas station where the fuel was being supplied and the presence of smuggled fuel was found in:

- three tanker trucks, with a total volume of 5,960 liters and
- five tanks with 1,072 liters of oil and 11,853 liters of gasoline.
The fuel was confiscated
Fuel has been confiscated and will be returned from tanks and tanker trucks.
At the same time, the cases are forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for criminal action, at the same time that due diligence procedures are immediately initiated to prohibit the supply of fuel to establishments linked to the filling stations.
