Ellen DeGeneres’ comeback threats come with one statement: that she is not really as evil as people describe.
Anyone can make a statement about someone. But then many people shared horror stories about ellen. Some worked in the service sector and others were employees of their own (former) program.
However, to hear Ellen tell it, she was just defending herself… and was kicked out of Hollywood for that.
It looks like she’s gearing up for a comeback after being canceled. And we should all be as scared as if we were waiting for her at a restaurant.

In 2020, a chorus of critics exposed Ellen DeGeneres
Some people didn’t hear allegations that Ellen DeGeneres could be far crueler than her public persona suggested until the 2020 scandal that led to her public downfall.
Others had read anecdotes about unfavorable encounters online, heard the stories in person, or experienced this side of her themselves. Some service industry professionals dreaded an encounter with her as if they had dread waiting for Jennifer Lopez.
What really blew things up was the frustration of your program’s employees who went public to describe a terribly toxic work environment. What followed was wider condemnation — including from other celebrities.

When it came to your show, some producers ended up taking a lot of the blame for the work environment.
It seemed like the people in charge really, really hoped people would forget that people had specifically profiled Ellen as the culprit. (Maybe this was already setting the stage for an Ellen DeGeneres comeback.)
To hear Ellen tell it, her mistake was simply not noticing what others were doing. That may have been a mistake on her part, but it is covering up a very of what people had to say about Ellen’s behavior.

Is she just a “strong woman” who is tragically misunderstood?
According to SFGATE, Ellen DeGeneres gave a speech during a recent standup show in Santa Rosa, California.
As she introduced herself to a packed room, she stated, “I am many things, but I am not evil.”
That’s where her defense seemed to begin, indirectly accusing all her critics of disliking her because she was a successful woman.

Her defensive claims continued, framing her behavior as an assertion of herself—a defense of herself.
“I can be demanding, impatient and tough,” Ellen described. She then characterized, “I am a strong woman.”
Historically, many bullies have framed their behavior simply as not backing down or staying strongeven when the people they torment are completely helpless.

Stay Tuned: Ellen DeGeneres Appears to Be Preparing for a Comeback
Ellen made similar claims during a standup special in the spring, framing herself as a victim who had to to recover.
Obviously, she’s not a one-dimensional person. She’s a real person with both good and bad qualities. Unfortunately, when someone’s supposed bad qualities make other people’s lives worse, it’s best to acknowledge those flaws rather than pretending they were just a bunch of nasty rumors.
Ellen does not back down from her defensive stance. And, like so many others comedians accused of abhorrent behaviorEllen has a Netflix special coming out this fall. Netflix has a deeply strange business model.
