Dave GrohlThe fashion game has some serious range. One day he’s rocking high-top Vans and jeans, and the next he’s floating around in Dolce & Gabbana loafers and a crisp navy suit.
The Foo Fighters frontman, 55, looked almost unrecognizable as he and his wife, Jordyn Blum, 43, dressed up in character on Tuesday to attend day two of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, England.
Blum is no stranger to turning heads with her fashion statements. She looked dapper in a baby blue coat over a flowing button-down dress. Meanwhile, the rock star looked more like a Fortune 500 CEO in a navy suit, white dress shirt, and gold-patterned tie. He also rocked a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses. But instead of letting his long locks fly in the wind, he pulled them back into a sleek ponytail.
The couple — who married in August 2003 and share three daughters, Violet, Harper and Ophelia — then sat down at the iconic tennis stadium to enjoy the grand tennis tournament.
Grohl’s appearance at Wimbledon comes less than two weeks after he raised eyebrows — much to the chagrin of Swifties — when he apparently made a criticism Taylor Swift. During his band’s show at the London Stadium on June 22, Grohl hinted that Swift — who was performing across town at Wembley Stadium for the second night of his three-day Eras Tour — does not play live during his shows.
Speaking to the crowd, Grohl referenced the other big show in the UK city and appeared to take a dig at the 34-year-old “You Need to Calm Down” singer, saying: “I tell you what, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.”
“So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour.’ We’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few fucking mistakes, too. Just a few,” the singer told the crowd. “That’s because we actually play live. What? Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll, right? You’ve come to the right fucking place.”
Less than 24 hours after this statement, the Midnights The singer seemingly responded as he thanked the packed crowd after a standing ovation.
“Every single one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band — who will be playing live for you for 3.5 hours tonight — they deserve this so much. And so do every single one of my fellow artists. And you gave it to us so generously, we will never forget it,” Swift said in videos posted online.
While she didn’t directly mention Grohl by name, fans were quick to connect the “playing live” comment to the Foo Fighters band member’s comments.
The interesting thing about all this is that Grohl’s bandmate Pat Smear was among the star-studded guests during night 1 of Swift’s Eras tour at Wembley Stadium.
