Stefanos Tsitsipas won but failed to impress with his appearance in his Wimbledon debut.
The Greek tennis player, ranked 11th in the world, fought hard enough to win in three sets (7-6, 6-4, 7-5) against Taro Daniel (number 84) and is preparing for his next opponent, who will be the winner of the Emile Roussouvoir-Mackenzie MacDonald pair.
“Steph” took a 4-1 lead, but Daniel took advantage of all his opponent’s mistakes to tie the game at 4-4, deciding the first set in a tiebreak.
In the second set, Tsitsipas broke in the third game and maintained his own serve to reach 6-4, while in the 11th game of the third set with a break he reached 7-5 and victory after about 2.5 hours.
