Tennis star Andrey Rublev had a meltdown during his Wimbledon match on Tuesday … repeatedly hitting himself with his racket — and the entire outburst was captured on video.
Rublev’s tantrum came in the middle of his confrontation with Francisco Comesana …after he failed to return one of his opponent’s blows.
I think Rublev needs to see a sports psychologist. This happens too often and is quite excessive. photo.twitter.com/oneqavULmK

As the ball flew toward the crowd, Rublev saw red… and slammed his racket into his knee repeatedly.
In total, the 26-year-old hit himself seven times… but somehow managed to stay in the match. However, he never regained his composure and lost.
After the fight, Rublev explained his actions… saying, “I couldn’t take it anymore. I needed to get my emotions out.” He added that he fortunately didn’t suffer any long-term injuries from the fight.

This isn’t the first time the tennis player has lost control during a major tournament… earlier this year at the French Open, he also hit his leg with his racket several times.
He admitted that after Tuesday’s mess, he needs to handle things better going forward — words we’re sure his knee will appreciate in the future.
