The intervention of the head of the Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office was prompted by the incident that occurred at Eleftherios Venizelos airport, where the former minister and deputy of Heraklion, Lefteris Avgenakis, acted against a company employee, as he wanted to board the plane despite the fact that the flight had been cancelled.
The preliminary investigation was ordered following complaints from airport workers’ representatives and the submission of a report by a PASOK-Movement for Change MP.
The head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office requests that crimes of violence against an employee, disruption of the functioning of a public service company, illegal violence and damage to something that serves the common good be investigated.
For the upcoming legal proceedings, your parliamentary immunity will be waived.
