Ellen Degeneres is hitting back at all the “mean girl” allegations… that created controversy on her talk show and ultimately contributed to her leaving the program.
The comedian addressed the controversial label attributed to her during a recent stand-up show in Santa Rosa, California… reportedly telling the nearly packed audience, “I’m a lot of things, but I’m not evil.”
According to SFGATEAlthough Ellen defended herself, she acknowledged: “I can be demanding, impatient and tough. I am a strong woman.”
You will remember… ED left his famous talk show in 2022, following allegations from former employees about a toxic work environment — a scandal she says helped break down some of her barriers.

Ellen
Ellen has been opening up a lot more about all of this recently… during a standup show last month, she confessed the impact of being kicked out of Hollywood for accusations of being toxic.
She said she shied away from news stories that portrayed her as a one-dimensional, horrible character… saying the fallout took a toll on her self-esteem — but she’s clearly recovered enough to joke about the scandal.
It’s something she’ll explore more deeply in her upcoming stand-up special, which will premiere on Netflix in the fall.
