For 912 calls to the Immediate Action call center, domestic violence police officers across the country responded during the week of June 24-30. During that time, 165 female victims were given the Panic Button app. Overall, the Greek police managed 561 incidents in this seven-day period and made 400 arrests.
At the same time, he transported 5 victims to structures with his vehicles and 27 to a coroner or hospital.
It is recalled that, with the care of the Greek Police, in the region of each Police Directorate throughout the territory, one or more specially designed areas have been secured which function as “safe houses”, for the safe short-term accommodation of women victims of domestic violence, as well as members of their family, such as minor children, who require protection.
Juvenile Delinquency – Youth Violence
At the same time, for its prevention and treatment juvenile delinquency it’s her violence between minorssoft policing actions are implemented by trained female and male police officers in neighborhoods, squares and places where young people gather and where incidents have occurred.
In this context, across the territory, from 24 to 30 June, 6,067 checks, 255 arrests and 128 detentions were carried out, while 236 violations were confirmed.

In the same direction, police actions aimed at dealing with adult crime continue.
For this reason, the teams operate with the participation of visible and invisible police officers from various Services, taking into account local operational plans and placing emphasis on areas and clusters where there have been increases in crime incidents.
In more detail, during the actions to combat crime across the country, from June 24 to 30, 542 special police operations were carried out, during which 115,603 people were checked, 5,543 arrested and 2,262 people detained.
Furthermore, as an indication, 210 robberies, 18 frauds, 35 vehicle thefts, 23 robberies, 6 computer frauds were investigated, as well as 534 weapons cases and 258 drug cases.
Road safety
Furthermore, the Traffic Services carried out special outings and targeted checks, especially in large urban centres, to tackle delinquent and dangerous-antisocial driving behaviour, with the aim of ensuring the smooth and safe movement of citizens and safeguarding human life.
142,396 vehicle traffic inspections were carried out and 35,388 infractions were found, for which the corresponding administrative fines were applied.
Indicatively, the violations confirmed, among others, concerns:
- 14,500 for illegal parking
- 5,673 for speeding
- 2,428 for not wearing a helmet
- 1,434 for deprivation of driver’s license
- 1,202 for not wearing a seat belt
- 835 to KTEO
- 762 for drunkenness and
- 538 for cell phone use while driving.
According to EL.AS., these specific actions will continue with unchanged intensity to improve the level road safetythe prevention and repression of crime, the best possible protection for victims of domestic violence, but also “so that no child feels alone and unprotected”.
