A full circle second is unfolding James Gunn‘Superman’ Set — Go Reeveson of the lasting Christopher Reeveis flying into the DC Universe with a cameo in Gunn’s film.
As you might imagine, Christopher donned the red cape in the “Superman” films of the ’70s and ’80s… and he would no doubt be thrilled to see these heartwarming photos on X of his youngest son hugging Gunn on set in Cleveland, Ohio, carrying on his legacy.

It’s unclear exactly what Will’s position is, but as you can see, he’s dressed to the nines in a smart Clark Kent-style suit as he high-fives Gunn and then hugs him — all while others on set applaud, so it looks like he’s just finished filming his scenes.
One factor is positive — he is not enjoying the starting position because it is being filled by David Corenswetwho is it has been rocking the traditional blue and crimson go well with Cleveland’s round color scheme.
However, Will won’t have to do much research on the film, as his father is basically synonymous with the character — he took on the role in 1978’s “Superman: The Movie” and continued to sport the “S” on his chest through three sequels until 1987.
20 years after Christopher’s death at the age of 52, Gunn is clearly hard at work on his new vision for the DC Cinematic Universe, set for release in July 2025.
