Robert Townea super famous screenwriter who won an Oscar for his script for “Chinatown” is useless.
Robert died Monday at his home in Los Angeles, according to an announcement Tuesday by his agent, Carrie McClure. The reason for the loss of life was not revealed.
In addition to winning an Oscar for the 1974 classic film “Chinatown,” Robert also wrote two other major films in the 1970s… “The Last Element” and “Shampoo.”
Robert can be credited with writing the 1988 film “Tequila Dawn”… starring Mel Gibson It is Michelle Pfeiffer.
A revered figure in Hollywood, Robert was probably one of the most sought-after screenwriters of all time… often being introduced into medical scripts — correcting them.
A couple of well-known examples… Warren Beatty ran to Robert for help in 1967’s “Bonnie and Clyde” and Robert prepared the Marlon Brando backyard scene in 1972’s “The Godfather,” even receiving a mention in Francis Ford CoppolaOscar acceptance speech.

The last time we got Robert to come out was in 2009 when he spoke to one of our photographers about his “Chinatown” script and talked about working with Roman Polanski It is Tom Cruise.
Robert wrote two films starring Tom in the 90s… “Days of Thunder” and “The Agency”… and was credited on the first two ‘Mission: Impossible’ action films.
